Welcome Jennie Williford

Welcome Jennie Williford, CIYT at Intermediate Junior III,  to The Yoga Place!
Jennie is not a strange face to our studio, having been a student of Chris Saudek’s for the last 10 years, coming to LaCrosse for class and various assessment preparations. Jennie got her start with Iyengar Yoga in Dallas, TX in 2000 and moved to Rockford, IL in 2006 where she helped with and ultimately took over Pranayama Yoga Studio. She also was a long-time volunteer for the Iyengar Association of the Midwest. In 2015 Jennie and her husband Josh moved to Kalispell, MT in order to be closer to the beauty and outdoor possibilities of the mountains. Unfortunately, the jobs they had there did not work as planned, so are relocating back to the Midwest! Much of Jennie’s heart is here in the Midwest, with a strong Iyengar Yoga Community, friends, colleagues, and teachers nearby. She is excited to be teaching at The Yoga Place, where she already feels at home, and also thrilled to finally be living in the same town as her teacher.

Jennie will begin teaching with an 8-week series from May 8-June 26th in order for you to get acquainted with her and her teaching! Jennie has a strong interest in the philosophy of yoga and tries to impart that interest to her students as well, making it approachable and applicable to asana practice and life. For her, the full understanding of yoga and its roots makes the practice juicy and opens the doors for deep transformation with endless possibilities.

Look for more from Jennie through our new Yoga Place blog and also upcoming workshops, including one of her favorite developments of an Introductory Course for Yoga Philosophy.

Jennie Williford CIYT

Jennie Williford (CIYT Level 3) is a transplant to LaCrosse via Montana, Illinois, and originally Texas. Throughout her life moves and 5 trips to India, Jennie has acquired a well-rounded and multi-faceted approach to Iyengar Yoga since her start in 1998. Jennie loves the experimental and explorative nature of yoga in accessing deeper knowledge of the Self on every level. The practice of yoga can be intense and introspective, however as practitioners we can be light-hearted and open-minded in our discipline. Jennie is intrigued by the philosophy of yoga and hopes to share this depth of subject while teaching the physical and mental benefits that come from the practice of posture.
